Saunas have been employed by many cultures for stress relief, purification rites and health benefits. Chumayo's private sauna easily accommodates up to five people and has its own shower and dressing area. The sauna is constructed of cedar and recycled redwood which are native to this coastal area. Hot lava rocks provide steam when water is poured over them, and essential oils may be added for additional health promotion.
